(ECNS) -- As of 6:10 p.m. Thursday, China's total box office for the month of July had surpassed 4 billion yuan (about $555.52 million). Leading the monthly chart is the historical movie "Dead To Rights".
"Dead To Rights" draws on real photographic evidence of war crimes committed by the Japanese aggressors during the Nanjing Massacre. Centered around a set of incriminating photographs, the story unfolds to reveal the origins of these images and the immense risks taken to expose the truth.

Dead To Rights portrays how ordinary, unarmed civilians refuse to submit in the face of atrocities. Instead, they use photographic negatives as a form of resistance, risking their lives to document and preserve evidence.
The film was released nationwide last Friday. Coinciding with the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, "Dead To Rights" brings history vividly to life on the big screen.
